What is Tap-In?
Tap-In is a gym-focused keychain and companion iOS app that blocks distracting apps on your phone the moment your workout begins. One tap activates a distraction-free environment — your chosen social media, email, and news apps disappear, your focus timer starts, and your workout tracking tools stay fully functional.
Who is Tap-In for?
Tap-In is built for regular gym-goers who use their phone during workouts — for tracking sets, listening to music, or logging data — but also find themselves getting pulled into scrolling, notifications, and social media during rest periods. If you want the tools without the distractions, Tap-In is for you. Perfect for strength trainers, HIIT enthusiasts, and anyone who uses apps like MyFitnessPal, Strong, or other fitness trackers.
How is Tap-In different from just using airplane mode or Screen Time?
Airplane mode kills your music streaming, health syncing, and any app that needs data. Everything breaks. Screen Time limits are weak and easy to override with a single tap of “Ignore Limit.” Tap-In is purpose-built: it blocks exactly the apps you choose, keeps your fitness tools and music running, automatically logs your session, and gives you a physical ritual, the tap itself, that creates a psychological commitment to your workout. It’s not a restriction tool, it’s a performance system.
How It Works
How do I start a session?
Open the Tap-In app, select your workout type, then hold your Tap-In keychain to your iPhone. The moment contact is made, your selected apps disappear and your focus timer begins. It takes under 5 seconds. When your workout is done, tap your keychain again to end the session and log your stats.
What if I need to check my phone mid-workout?
Tap your keychain to your phone at any point to exit focus mode. Emergency calls and texts are never blocked. Tap-In is designed to help you build a habit — it’s not a lockout. You’re always in control.
If you are not near your keychain, you can use one of your three Emergency Unlocks (located on the Settings page). If you run out, all you have to do is complete 10 workouts to unlock an extra one.
Does the keychain need to be charged or have a battery?
No. The Tap-In keychain is completely passive. It requires no battery, no charging, and no pairing. It works through your iPhone’s built-in short-range communication technology. Just tap and go.
How does my session get logged?
Every Tap-In session is automatically saved with the duration, workout type (Functional Strength, HIIT, Core Training, General Focus, etc.), and focus score. Sessions appear in your in-app history, including weekly stats, streaks, personal records, and your average focus score over time.
Compatibility
What iPhone models are compatible?
Tap-In works with iPhone XS and later, running iOS 14 or higher. This covers the vast majority of iPhones currently in use. The app is available on the App Store.
Is there an Android version?

Does it work with Apple Watch?
Apple Watch and Apple Health integration is on our product roadmap. Today, all session data is logged inside the Tap-In app like duration, workout type, focus score, and streak. A dedicated Apple Watch companion app is planned for a future update.

Which apps can I block?
You can block any app installed on your iPhone, organized by category: Social, Games, Entertainment, Information & Reading, Productivity & Finance, Shopping & Food, Travel, and more. You can select entire categories or pick specific apps within them. You can also search for any specific app by name.
What stays accessible during a session?
Everything you haven’t chosen to block remains fully functional: Spotify, Apple Music, any podcast app, fitness tracking apps, your workout logging tools, text messaging, and phone calls.
What workout types does the app support?
Tap-In currently supports the majority of workout types offered by Apple Fitness, with more workout types being added in future updates. Each session type is categorized automatically in your history so you can see trends across training modalities.
What is the focus score?
Your focus score is a self-reflection of how you truly felt during your workout. Answering it honestly gives you the opportunity to visualize how each workout went and how you can improve your sessions.

How much does Tap-In cost?
Tap-In is $39.99 (before taxes and shipping).This includes the physical keychain and lifetime access to the free Tap-In iOS app including all future updates. There are no hidden fees, recurring charges, or premium tiers.
How long does shipping take?
Tap-In ships within 2–4 business days. Standard domestic shipping is available, with expedited options at checkout. We ship to all 50 US states. International shipping availability will be announced soon.
